Keanu Reeves has revealed that he finds the continual public interest in his life a “drag”.

The Day The Earth Stood Still star also insisted that he does not understand why people find his daily life so interesting.

“Fame is drag,” he said. “The paparazzi culture is more pervasive than it used to be – ‘let’s watch the actor pump gas’.”

However, the actor admitted that being successful does have some perks.

“On the positive side, it’s nice not to have to worry about bills,” he said. “Money buys you the freedom to live your life the way you want.

“I’ve been able to earn a really good living and start a charity foundation, which is nice.”
