Keanu joins Pippa Lee

THE SKINNY: The cast of THE PRIVATE LIVES OF PIPPA LEE is becoming a star-studded affair, with new additions Keanu Reeves, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alan Arkin and Monica Bellucci joining the ensemble drama, announced Hollywood Reporter.

Plan B Entertainment and Elevation Filmworks are producing, while Rebecca Miller (THE BALLAD OF JACK AND ROSE) directs.

The story, based on Miller’s forthcoming novel, tells of a “dutiful 50-year-old wife whose husband falls for a younger woman, freeing her to explore her buried sensuality and leading to a very quiet nervous breakdown.”

The title character belongs to Robin Wright Penn. Julianne Moore and Winona Ryder are also on board, Moore playing a lesbian novelist. Gyllenhaal will be portraying Wright Penn’s pill-popping mother in flashbacks.
