Keanu Reeves has brushed off reports he will be back in a new sequel to his hit movie ‘Speed’, saying he won’t be part of it if it goes ahead.
Earlier this week, unsubstantiated rumors circulated that Fox is planning a prequel to the hit 1994 movie that launched the career of Sandra Bullock.
In a chat with IGN to promote his latest movie ‘The Day The Earth Stood Still’, Reeves said, “I honestly don’t know anything about it.”
He added, “I don’t know if they are going to make another one, and if they are it won’t be with me… honestly!”

Next November 27, during the German annual television and media prize Bambi awards, Keanu will be named as the Best International Actor.
The annual ceremony has been organized by Hubert Burda Media group since 1948. Keanu is expected to personally accept the award.
Here’s something for you to chew on. According to the latest issue of Production Weekly (via SlashFilm), David Fincher is attached to directed a project called Chef with Keanu Reeves set to star. Unfortunately we have no clue what the film is even about or any other information beyond that. Could it be about a serial killer or some “scheme which is extremely dark yet still slightly comical,” as Peter at SlashFilm jokes. Whatever the case, something about this project sounds particularly enticing. I don’t exactly know what it is, but I definitely want to find out more, and hopefully this news turn out to be true by then.
Keanu only ever mentioned the project once before in an interview, saying it was something that he was developing on his own (possibly even writing on his own) and that Fincher was eying it. Either there is something very interesting going on behind-the-scenes here at Sony (where it’s being developed) or Production Weekly just got a bad tip. As I said, I’m very curious to know more. Reeves is next set to appear in The Day the Earth Stood Still, a role in which I think he is quite well suited for. And if he continues to take on more roles like that, maybe Chef will eventually see the light of day with Fincher attached, too.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It’s a most excellent outcome for Keanu Reeves in his civil trial: He doesn’t owe a paparazzo who sued him a dime.
After deliberating for less than three hours, jurors unanimously rejected the case Monday, ruling that Reeves is not responsible for the photographer’s alleged injuries. Alison Silva had asked the jury to award him $711,974, which includes medical bills, lost wages and punitive damages.
Silva claimed that the star of “The Matrix,” “Speed” and “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” struck him with his Porsche in March 2007, causing him to fall and injure his left wrist.
Over the course of five days, jurors heard how Silva gave contradictory statements about what happened and even saw a video of the celeb shooter using his supposedly damaged hand to scale down a chain link fence after getting video of Britney Spears.
Attorneys for both sides issued closing arguments Friday before the jury deliberated about five minutes and left for the weekend. They resumed their work Monday morning.
The panel was a decidedly Hollywood bunch. One of the jurors said he is an animator for “The Simpsons,” while another helps coordinate movie shoots in public parks. A pair of actresses and a former voice-over artist were eliminated from the jury pool.
Reeves, who stars in the upcoming remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” testified early on. He remained in the courtroom throughout, occasionally conferring with his lawyers and signing autographs in the hallway.
