Next November 27, during the German annual television and media prize Bambi awards, Keanu will be named as the Best International Actor.
The annual ceremony has been organized by Hubert Burda Media group since 1948. Keanu is expected to personally accept the award.
Here’s something for you to chew on. According to the latest issue of Production Weekly (via SlashFilm), David Fincher is attached to directed a project called Chef with Keanu Reeves set to star. Unfortunately we have no clue what the film is even about or any other information beyond that. Could it be about a serial killer or some “scheme which is extremely dark yet still slightly comical,” as Peter at SlashFilm jokes. Whatever the case, something about this project sounds particularly enticing. I don’t exactly know what it is, but I definitely want to find out more, and hopefully this news turn out to be true by then.
Keanu only ever mentioned the project once before in an interview, saying it was something that he was developing on his own (possibly even writing on his own) and that Fincher was eying it. Either there is something very interesting going on behind-the-scenes here at Sony (where it’s being developed) or Production Weekly just got a bad tip. As I said, I’m very curious to know more. Reeves is next set to appear in The Day the Earth Stood Still, a role in which I think he is quite well suited for. And if he continues to take on more roles like that, maybe Chef will eventually see the light of day with Fincher attached, too.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It’s a most excellent outcome for Keanu Reeves in his civil trial: He doesn’t owe a paparazzo who sued him a dime. After deliberating for less than three hours, jurors unanimously rejected the case Monday, ruling that Reeves is not responsible for the photographer’s alleged injuries. Alison Silva had asked the jury to award him $711,974, which includes medical bills, lost wages and punitive damages.
Silva claimed that the star of “The Matrix,” “Speed” and “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” struck him with his Porsche in March 2007, causing him to fall and injure his left wrist.
Over the course of five days, jurors heard how Silva gave contradictory statements about what happened and even saw a video of the celeb shooter using his supposedly damaged hand to scale down a chain link fence after getting video of Britney Spears.
Attorneys for both sides issued closing arguments Friday before the jury deliberated about five minutes and left for the weekend. They resumed their work Monday morning.
The panel was a decidedly Hollywood bunch. One of the jurors said he is an animator for “The Simpsons,” while another helps coordinate movie shoots in public parks. A pair of actresses and a former voice-over artist were eliminated from the jury pool.
Reeves, who stars in the upcoming remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” testified early on. He remained in the courtroom throughout, occasionally conferring with his lawyers and signing autographs in the hallway.

There were no flying roundhouse kicks, but “Matrix” star Keanu Reeves did turn on his charm Tuesday in an L.A. court as he defended himself against a paparazzo.
Taking the stand to deny he’d intentionally knocked over snapper Alison Silva with his 1996 Porsche, Reeves grinned at jurors and seemed to channel his slacker character in “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.”
When asked to estimate the height of the car he was driving the March 2007 night he allegedly injured Silva, Reeves threw up his hands and quipped, “I haven’t been calibrated.”
The “Speed” star said he slowly moved his Porsche forward to nudge Silva out of the way. But Reeves argued, “to my recollection, I didn’t hit him. I [saw] his legs cross and he [started] to kind of stumble.”

Keanu, who testified for an hour, asserted that it’s “common sense” to get out of the way when someone starts a car.
The 28-year-old paparazzo said he had spotted Reeves in West Hollywood and followed him to Palos Verdes, The News’ Nancy Dillon reports. Silva said he considered hiding in a construction site’s Porta-Potty until Reeves looked over his shoulder and saw him.
“In the [paparazzi] biz, he is considered a shark … hard to get … if he sees you, he’ll try to hide himself,” Silva told jurors.
Even Reeves laughed when Silva said his hope was that he’d catch the elusive star with a new girlfriend.
“I was nervous,” Silva admitted about the moment Reeves exited the medical facility and it was time for him to start snapping. He said he fumbled with equipment that wasn’t working properly and didn’t think he was blocking Reeves when the Porsche began to move forward.
“The bumper of the car hit my right knee,” Silva, originally from Brazil, told the panel. “I don’t remember myself stumbling with my own feet. … I went backward on my hand.”
Silva’s lawyer said in his opening statement that the photographer already has $40,000 in medical bills from the accident and needs $50,000 more for bone-graft surgery to fix his broken wrist.
Reeves’ lawyer said a doctor will testify that Silva’s wrist injury could be from his youth, when he was an avid soccer player. The trial is expected to run through Friday.
Reeves conceded the shutterbug hadn’t tried to follow him into the Palos Verdes medical facility, where he was visiting a family member. He quipped that the pap “didn’t shoot any flaming arrows, either.”
LOS ANGELES, Calif. –
It’s not exactly “The Matrix,” but Keanu Reeves is venturing into another world this week: the courtroom.
The civil trial of a paparazzo suing the actor will begin Monday in Los Angeles with attorneys wrangling over last-minute issues before selecting a jury.
Alison Silva is suing Reeves over a March 2007 accident in which he fell while photographing the “Matrix” star behind the wheel of his Porsche. Reeves was pulling out of a parking space, and Silva says he was knocked down by the actor’s car.
A judge has already said Silva can’t recoup punitive damages during the trial and thrown out other claims. The photographer is trying to prove Reeves acted negligently and receive money for his medical bills and lost income.
Reeves will play at least a supporting role during the trial: he arrived Monday dressed in a brown suit.

And this is from x17online.com
And X17 will be able to give you a first-hand account of what happens later this week because WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO TESTIFY on Wednesday!!!
NOOOOO, the pap didn’t work for X17 and he never has, contrary to his claims. He told the court he lost income when he was injured by Reeves when the actor allegedly drove his Porsche over his foot. NOT TRUE!
We have never worked with the photog/paparazzo/photojournalist Alison Silva and in fact, he SUED US TOO!!!! The case was recently thrown out and Silva still owes us attorney’s fees … so WHY would he claim to have worked for us? … Our only answer is simply that the guy has a few loose screws …
Also, I’m receiving some emails asking about candids and paparazzi pictures. I just want to remember KeanuConnection visitors that we never posted that much candids here. But since this accident happened, I just decided in complete respect to Mr. Reeves do not post any paparazzi picture here anymore. Of course, I’m not blaming about other sites that do it, anyone is free to give the direction they want. But since the paparazzis are being a pain in the a** of Keanu, I believe I’ll do my part as fan and admirer if I don’t support it.
I’m sorry for all of you that really enjoy paparazzi pictures. But this is final decision that will not be changed.
