DETAILS magazine’s Holiday issue is coming out next week and we have the ultimate dude: Keanu Reeves. And he continues to look adorable despite his legal troubles! The best part- Keanu is amazingly smart (genius??) and a voracious reader. We¹re talking serious reads- Proust, Updike, Shakespeare. Starring in the upcoming sci-fi thriller “The Day The Earth Stood Still,” you might just start to look at Keanu in a whole new light.

Thanks to Ryan from Details for the heads up;

It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and now that the trailer for “The Day the Earth Stood Still” has arrived online, fans everywhere are watching the footage with Zapruder-like intensity for clues to the remake’s vision. MTV goes right to the source for a talk with director Scott Derrickson. Read more here.
As the lead actors in the new film “Street Kings” gathered at Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, you’d never know that onscreen Keanu Reeves, Chris Evans, and Forest Whitaker play the roughest, toughest LAPD cops that have graced the silver screen since “Training Day.” No, those tough exteriors in the film were nowhere to be seen; even Keanu, who is notorious for his stone-faced red carpet walks, loosened up and joined his screaming fans for some impromptu candid photos.
Perhaps the three “Street Kings” stars and their fellow actors from the film at the premiere, Naomie Harris, Terry Crews and Martha Higareda, were so cheerful because of the positive early reviews coming in for the movie, which opens on April 11. Their happiness spilled over to the assorted friends and colleagues who attended the premiere, including a very pregnant Minnie Driver, Elise Neal, Kristin Callavari, Rick Schroder, Sarah Carter and LisaRaye. The Matrix, the action-packed science fiction film starring Keanu Reeves, sits atop a list of the best science-fiction movies or TV programs of the past 25 years.
The editors of Entertainment Weekly have ranked the hit 1999 film No. 1 in the issue headed for newsstands Monday.
Editors describe the ultra-stylish, ultra-violent film as “unexpected, groundbreaking, and capture-the-imagination entertaining as the first Star Wars” and “a multi-megabyte compression of mythological and theological ideas, Hong Kong action-film aesthetics, and videogame special effects.”
Directed by brothers Larry and Andy Wachowski, The Matrix popularized the use of the “bullet time” visual effect, where a scene appears in slow-motion, with the camera apparently orbiting a central object at normal speed, as well as wire-assisted martial arts battle scenes commonly used in Asian cinema.
The film ultimately won Oscars for its visual effects, sound, film editing and sound effects editing.
The full list, with a short tribute to each entry, is posted on the Entertainment Weekly website.
