Last week put a theoretical lid on at least one successful franchise as actor Chris Evans told the press he thought the Fantastic Four movies were probably done. This week Keanu Reeves is saying pretty much the same thing about a Constantine sequel.
There has been a lot of talk since Reeves starred in the 2005 comic book adaptation about a follow up movie. Even a few months ago director Francis Lawrence said that it could still happen and was just dependent upon a decent script. Reeves told IESB during a Street Kings junket that he’s not really interested in revisiting the character, however. Actually, Reeves said he isn’t interested in revisiting any of his old characters, including “Ted” Theodore Logan.
With only one picture in the can, it wouldn’t be hard to recast the part of John Constantine if Lawrence wanted to move forward with the franchise. It isn’t like Reeves brought a ton of depth and characterization to the movie character, which felt more like an extension of The Matrix in Reeves’ hands than something derived from the comic book Hellblazer. I wouldn’t count a sequel completely out, but one with Reeves is probably not going to happen, which means it’s more likely any sequel would be direct to video without Reeves’ star power attached.

LONDON: Actors John Corbett and Keanu Reeves were injured in a car chase scene crash in their new movie “Street Kings”.The actors were rolling inside a car made for the movie as they raced through Los Angeles, reports contactmusic.com.
Corbett said: “It’s a choreographed stunt with the real cars coming at us. A couple of times we smacked the side of a bus and there’s really no special effects; that’s really us flying through traffic at about 50 miles per hour for about a mile and a half.
“Keanu has a handcuff in my mouth, I’m trying to drive and these two (Reeves and Amaury Nolasco) are going at it with full force. His fist is swinging by me and the wind is like a hurricane coming by and they’re just going at each other, kicking each other,” he said.
“They’re just hitting each other with everything they’ve got.”
“The director yelled cut and we had to go back to the set and they’re both just sitting there, rubbing their shoulders and wiping the blood off their lips. That scene was pretty intense.”

With mankind’s first uncertain steps into the atomic age comes a warning from beyond the stars: cease your fighting and your wars or you will be destroyed. “The decision rests with you,” Klaatu says by way of farewell at the end of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” a classic of Cold War science-fiction from 1951.Fifty years later and Klaatu has a new message for humanity, but one with equally dire consequences should we choose to ignore it, Keanu Reeves, who is playing the alien in Scott Derrickson’s upcoming remake, told MTV News.
“The first one was borne out of the cold war and nuclear détente. Klaatu came and was saying cease and desist with your violence. If you can’t do it yourselves we’re going to do it. That was the film of that day,” Reeves explained. “The version I was just working on, instead of being man against man, it’s more about man against nature. My Klaatu says that if the Earth dies, you die. If you die, the earth survives. I’m a friend to the earth.”
While humanity still engages in a staggering number of international conflicts, the environmental message is one that, not only encompasses wars, and fights, and terrorism, but one that goes beyond constrictions to become a millennial message of “what we are doing and who we are as a species,” Reeves insisted. “We’re trying to reach beyond the idea of [just] environmentalism.”
Among the other changes in the film, none may be more radical than Gort, Klaatu’s robot companion (or leader in some versions), that, let’s face it, looked like the tin-man in 1951. FX should change that, right?
“Hey man, don’t put that tin man down! That was iconoclastic!” Reeves protested. “[But] yes, we have another version of the [robot].”
One thing that won’t change? According to Reeves, he still says the immortal words, “Klaatu barada nikto.”
How does “The Day the Earth Stood Still” speak to you? What do you make of the new Earth friendly message? Sound off below.

Keanu has the third most perfect beauty face, according a study done at University of Nebraska .
Leonardo da Vinci and other Old Masters were masters in what they did, and now a new study has further justified this by finding that a code designed by them as a guide to paint the perfect beauty is still valid.
